Preparing for AI induced economic Turmoil

This question could be answered in many reasonable ways, yet we don’t know exactly what AGI will look like at the time of this state of affairs, so none of those answers are more likely than the other to be valid. Depending on how this type of event manifests in reality, we will get different outcomes as to what was the most wise choice in preparing for it.

There are more likely outcomes when you reason through the variables at hand, but I would argue those are still uncertain. We could get a series of events after that moment that no one expected. That may even be the most likely outcome - something highly unusual and strange.

Some of the usual suspects anticipate great tension as these shifts occur, and tension always needs a release valve. Without a regulated flow, that tension could bring about the coming of anti machine prophets that gain followings loyal to their cause and similar. This does not necessarily guarantee mass destruction or anything like that.

With that said, destruction is also a perfectly valid conclusion for an event we still don’t fully understand. So as to how to prepare - you must prepare for something somewhere between utopia and destruction. I do feel as if that’s already how we all must live, dealing with the uncertainties of so many other events, so maybe it’s best we just go about our lives! We always find a way.
